Independence Day ceremony at the President’s House, high awards to military and political figures

Islamabad: On the occasion of August 14, a special ceremony of high awards for civil and military figures was held at the President’s Office, in which President Asif Ali Zardari presented awards to those who had rendered distinguished services. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif set an example by removing his name from the list for the ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’ included in the committee’s summary.

In the military leadership, Field Marshal Asim Munir, General Sahir Shamshad, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar, and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf received major awards for their courage, professional leadership, and protection of borders. In the political and diplomatic field, Ishaq Dar, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Khawaja Asif, Mohsin Naqvi, Atta Tarar, and Rana Sanaullah were also awarded the ‘Nishan-e-Imtiaz’ for their services to the country.

Guests attending the ceremony described the moment as a recognition of Pakistan’s solidarity, sacrifice, and service, while the national flag and national songs in the Presidential Palace added to the excitement.
