Phalia – Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has suggested rerouting allegedly plundered cash from Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in order to provide free education across the nation. Hafiz Naeem addressed party workers in Phalia, criticizing the government for corruption and poor administration. He also said that universal access to free education might be achieved by recovering PKR 570 billion from IPPs.

He said that the IPP mafia had been collecting billions of rupees for power that had never been generated. “The goal of universal free education can be realized if the PKR 570 billion that IPPs embezzle is used for education,” he said.

In his critique of the existing educational system, Hafiz Naeem questioned why a single language cannot be used to teach a unified curriculum. Additionally, he denied students their basic right to free education by criticizing the privatization of public institutions.

Speaking on the suffering of the average person, Hafiz Naeem bemoaned the difficulties faced by individuals who are unable to pay for food and other essentials. He emphasized how the government has broken its pledges to establish a minimum wheat support price, despite farmers working in difficult circumstances to cultivate harvests.

Further, he said that the sugar mafia’s unbridled authority sets sugarcane prices arbitrarily. He said, “Our government burdens the workers and farmers instead of taxing the wealthy, as the IMF suggests.”

While the majority of legislators are billionaires, the head of the JI also criticized the governing class for boosting their benefits and privileges. The country suffers as a result of these millionaires escaping overseas when things gett tough. He claimed that without overthrowing this repressive economic system, change is impossible.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s dedication to standing up for the middle and lower classes was reiterated by Hafiz Naeem. He vowed to stage demonstrations at government buildings and declared their intention to take their campaign to all streets. He came to the conclusion that “we are the voice of the common people, and we will surround the corridors of power to bring about meaningful change.”
