Lahore: In view of the rising prices of petroleum products and the ongoing tense situation in the region, Lahore Traffic Police has taken an important step to provide relief to the citizens.
According to the instructions issued by the Chief Traffic Officer Lahore, it has been decided not to issue challans for rickshaws, motorcycles and loader rickshaws until Eid. The aim of this decision is to provide temporary convenience to the citizens during the rising inflation.
According to traffic police officials, the expenses of the common citizens are increasing due to the increase in the prices of petroleum products. Keeping this situation in mind, this decision has been taken so that the people do not have to face additional financial pressure during the days of Eid.
Officials say that this move will be especially beneficial for those who use motorcycles or rickshaws for daily travel.
The traffic police have also announced several measures to save petrol. According to officials, if petrol prices increase further, traffic police officers and officials will use motorcycles instead of government vehicles.
Similarly, unnecessary idling of traffic police vehicles parked on the roads will also be stopped to prevent wastage of petrol.
According to officials, the aim of this policy is to ensure effective use of government resources and reduce expenses.
The traffic police say that if the prices of petroleum products increase further, there is a possibility of starting patrolling on bicycles in the next phase.
The traffic authorities have also appealed to the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and use alternative means if possible to save fuel.
According to officials, in the current economic situation, both government institutions and the public need to use resources carefully.
