Islamabad: Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has announced the start of Phase 2 of 8171 payments, under which thousands of newly verified households will be provided Rs 13,500. The government has also issued a district-wise payment schedule for the beneficiaries, so that rush at the centers is reduced and the payment process continues in a better manner.
According to BISP officials, the families included in Phase 2 are those whose eligibility, PMT score and household details have undergone complete verification in the past months. All payments will not be possible without biometric verification.
To check their status, beneficiaries can:
- Enter CNIC on the official portal
- Send an SMS to 8171 and get a response
- Or get biometric verification done at the nearest BISP desk
The government has clarified that no one can ask for a fee in exchange for checking eligibility or making payments. If anyone tries to do so, immediately report it to the helpline.
The key instructions state that citizens should not go to the centre without the original CNIC, as payments are possible only if there is a biometric match. If NADRA records are not updated, beneficiaries may face delays.
According to officials, the aim of this phase is to facilitate maximum families and maintain transparency.
