Lahore – Pakistan has recorded a sharp increase in jet fuel prices, which has raised alarm bells for the country’s aviation industry. According to the latest details, the price of jet fuel has been hiked by a whopping Rs 83 per litre, after which its new price has been set at the highest level of Rs 471 per litre. Surprisingly, in a short period of just one month, the price of this fuel has seen a phenomenal increase of Rs 283 per litre, which is a record of its kind in the history of the country.

Due to the continuous increase, airlines are facing severe financial pressure, which is likely to have a direct impact in the form of an increase in air travel fares.

According to the statistics, the month of March 2026 is proving to be very heavy for the aviation industry. On March 1, 2026, the price of jet fuel was just Rs 188 per litre, but this is the fourth time the price has been revised upwards during March so far.

Experts say that such a rapid increase in fuel prices will not only affect the operation of local flights but also increase fueling costs in Pakistan unbearably for international airlines. Sources associated with the aviation industry have appealed to the government to take immediate steps to stabilize prices to save the aviation sector from total collapse.
