Tehran: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has said that Iran will not be part of any new negotiation process until all the conditions included in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) are fully implemented. He said that the current diplomatic contacts are only aimed at ensuring the implementation of previously agreed commitments.

In his statement, Qalibaf said that Iran respects its international obligations, but the fulfillment of previously made commitments is necessary before any new agreement or negotiations. He said that under the MoU, it was agreed to establish a joint committee to monitor the ceasefire in Lebanon, which will include the relevant parties.

Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian speaker said that Iran will not compromise its legal and sovereign rights on this important waterway. According to him, the administrative responsibility of the Strait of Hormuz lies with Iran and Oman, and maritime traffic will be in accordance with the rules that will be under the system agreed by the two countries.

Qalibaf claimed that Iran has exported more than 40 million barrels of oil since the naval blockade was eased. He warned that if the US tries to stop Iran’s oil exports, it will have repercussions on the global energy market.
