Lahore – The Government of Pakistan has officially adjusted the prices of petroleum products, bringing the price of Kerosene oil to Rs 428.81 per litre. This update follows a major reduction in Diesel prices, which were slashed by Rs 32.12 per litre under the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Currently, Diesel is priced at Rs 353.42, down from its previous rate of Rs 385.54, while Petrol remains steady at Rs 366.58 per litre.

Despite these changes, the public remains concerned. Many citizens have noted that while Diesel is now cheaper, public transport fares and the prices of essential goods have not yet decreased. There is also a strong public demand for the government to pass on further relief by reducing Petrol prices.

Looking ahead, the outlook for consumers appears positive due to international market shifts.

Global oil prices have recently tumbled, with Brent Crude dropping over 12% to settle at $86 per barrel.

Economic experts believe that if these international prices stay low, the government will likely announce further cuts to both Petrol and Diesel in the next pricing cycle, potentially easing the financial burden on the public.
