Karachi: The UAE Dirham (AED) is trading at Rs. 77.15 for buying and Rs. 78.00 for selling in Pakistan’s open market today.
The dirham is crucial for Pakistan’s economy, as millions of Pakistanis are working in the United Arab Emirates and sending money home. Remittances in dirhams form a large part of Pakistan’s foreign income, supporting both family households and the national reserves.
The currency also plays an important role in trade, particularly in petroleum products and imports from Gulf countries.
