Karachi: The British Pound is being exchanged at Rs. 384.50 for buying and Rs. 389.50 for selling in open market today. The pound is maintaining its strong position in the local market while the rupee is facing continued pressure against the British currency.
The UK currency plays a significant role for Pakistan, especially with remittances, education, and travel expenses for students and overseas Pakistanis in Britain. The higher value of the pound is continuing to impact the cost of sending money abroad as well as the overall expenses of families dependent on remittances.
