Lahore – The government has adjusted the prices of petroleum products and lowered rates of petrol while raising rates of high-speed diesel in Islamabad. The new prices will be implemented from August 12, 2026.
The price of petrol has now been cut by Rs 1.70 per litre, and the new rate has been fixed at Rs 325.92 per litre, the Petroleum Division had said in a notification.
However, the price of high-speed diesel has been hiked up by Rs 1.39 per litre. The new price of diesel will be Rs 382.25 per litre after the hike.
The slight improvement in the price of petrol will be welcomed by petrol users, but the rise in the price of diesel can have an effect on freight vehicles and other diesel-powered activities.
The price change of diesel is believed to be significant for transportation costs because it is widely used in heavy transportation, such as trucks, buses, agricultural machinery and others. This current rise, however, is capped off.
The New rates of both the Products will come into effect from August 12, 2026, according to the Notification issued by the Government.
