Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rebounded on Wednesday after four consecutive trading sessions of bearishness, but volatility persisted in the market. The KSE-100 index closed at 165,417 points with a gain of 641 points after a decline of about 3,800 points in the last four days.
The KSE-100 index witnessed significant volatility during the trading session and was moving in a band of about 1,600 points. The positive development at the end of the business gave some support to investors after continuous losses.
A total of about 585 million shares were traded in the stock market, worth Rs 20 billion. At the same time, the total market capitalization increased by Rs 65 billion, after which it increased to Rs 18,391 billion.
Although the recovery of the KSE-100 index revealed a positive trend in the market, a one-day increase after a continuous decline does not confirm a sustainable recovery. The direction of the index and investor activity in the coming trading sessions will provide a better idea of the market trend.
