ISLAMABAD: In a major relief measure for consumers across Pakistan, the federal government has officially reduced the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) with effect from June 1, 2025.

According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of LPG has been reduced by Rs. 2.50 paise, or 4.63 per kilogram, bringing the new rate to Rs. 240.53 per kilogram.

The reduction directly impacts the price of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder, which will now cost Rs. 2,838.31, reflecting a price reduction of Rs. 54.60. The announcement is being welcomed by households that rely on LPG as a primary or additional source of energy, especially in areas where there is limited access to piped natural gas.

OGRA’s decision is in line with the government’s ongoing efforts to stabilize fuel prices and reduce inflationary pressures on the public. The price revision comes amid global changes in energy markets and domestic concerns over the rising cost of living.

The move is expected to provide temporary relief to families, small eateries, and shopkeepers who use LPG cylinders in their daily operations.

Breakdown of New LPG Rates:

ItemPrevious Price (PKR)Reduction (PKR)New Price (PKR)
LPG per Kilogram245.16 (approx.)4.63240.53
11.8 kg Domestic Cylinder2,892.91 (approx.)54.602,838.31

The revised rates will be applicable nationwide from Saturday, June 1, and OGRA has advised all distributors and retailers to comply strictly with the new pricing structure.
