Islamabad: The government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 2.93 per litre, after which the new price has been set at Rs 395.37 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of diesel has been increased by 61 paise per litre, after which its new price has become Rs 396.35 per litre.
According to the notification, the new prices of petroleum products will be applicable from October 13.
The Petroleum Division says that the determination of petrol and diesel prices is linked to the prices of these products in the global market.
The reduction in petrol prices will provide minor relief to consumers, however, the increase in diesel prices is likely to affect the costs of freight and other sectors.
