Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Market was under a bearish cloud during the last trading week, as a result of which the index failed to maintain its highest level.
According to the report, due to selling pressure in the stock market, the 100 index saw a total decline of 3629 points; however, the index stabilised at 150,398 points by the last session of the week. Experts believe that political uncertainty and changes in economic indicators have affected investor confidence.
Weekly performance highlights:
- High: 157,347 points
- Low: 144,656 points
- Total volume: 2.45 billion shares
- Market value: Rs 140 billion
To provide relief to investors, economists have called on the government and regulatory bodies to take steps such as reducing policy rates and tax incentives to revive the market.
