KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a downtrend since the beginning of trading today, as a result of which the 100 index closed at 1,15,507 points after a huge fall of 682 points.

At the beginning of the day, the index also reached a high of 1,15,937 points at one time, but the selling pressure in the market did not allow the bullish trend to persist.

At the end of trading yesterday, the 100 index had closed at 116,189 points. Investors said political and economic uncertainties, inflation, and volatility in the value of the rupee have made investors cautious, which led to a significant downtrend in the market.
