Budget is a serious step towards people-friendly reforms for ‘sustainable development: Finance Minister

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said in the Senate that in the Budget 2025-26, the government has adopted several measures for public welfare, including increasing foreign exchange reserves, reducing inflation, and a slight 1.9% increase in federal expenditure, the results of which proved to be better than in the past.

Decided to reduce the sales tax imposed on imported solar panels to 10% on the minimum applicable parts after protecting the local industry, which showed an estimated increase in the price of solar panels of only 4.6%. Aurangzeb made it clear that information has been received about hoarding on the prices of solar panels, against which concrete steps will be taken.
