Karachi, Pakistan—07 February 2025— Gold prices in Pakistan have witnessed a sharp increase, with the per tola rate rising by PKR 1,346 to cross the PKR 3 lakh threshold. According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the new price stands at PKR 300,346 per tola. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by PKR 1,154, reaching PKR 257,241.
The upward trend was also observed in international markets, where gold prices rose by $10 to $2,869 per ounce. This surge comes just a day after gold prices in Pakistan dropped by PKR 900 per tola, highlighting the volatility in the precious metals market.
Market analysts attribute the rise to fluctuating global economic conditions, including changes in the US dollar’s strength and geopolitical uncertainties. The increase in gold prices is expected to impact local buyers, particularly during the wedding season when demand for gold jewelry typically peaks.
