Lahore: The government has launched a milestone project for electricity saving, under which inverter fans will be provided to consumers without coercion. After the approval of the board of directors, an agreement has been reached between the LESCO chief and NECA, and consumers will be able to buy inverter fans according to their choice.
On the government’s instructions, LESCO sought data of the last three years’ bills of consumers so that needy consumers could be selected. A plan has been made to replace eight crore old fans at the national level, and it is estimated that about 5,000 MW of electricity will be saved annually.
