Water level in Jhelum River in Azad Kashmir rises, SDMA warns

Muzaffarabad: Water released from Indian occupied territory has entered Azad Kashmir through Chakothi on the Line of Control, after which the water level in the Jhelum River is rising rapidly.

According to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), the water level may rise in the surrounding areas up to Muzaffarabad, Hattian Bala and Mangla.

The authority has warned citizens to avoid unnecessary movement near rivers and streams, move livestock and valuables to safe places and keep children away from water.
