406 dead, thousands of homes affected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to rains and flash floods

Islamabad: The recent rains and flash floods have caused widespread destruction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 406 precious lives have been lost in various accidents due to rains since August 15, while 247 people have been injured.

The report states that the dead include 305 men, 55 women and 46 children, while the injured include 179 men, 38 women and 30 children.

According to the PDMA, 3,526 houses were partially or completely damaged due to the rains and flash floods, causing hardship to thousands of families.

Officials say that relief operations are underway in the affected areas and emergency measures are being taken to help the victims.
