Pakistan Observes Kashmir Exploitation Day, Renews Support for Kashmiri People

Islamabad: On the occasion of the Day of Exploitation, the Foreign Office Spokesperson has said that Pakistan is expressing complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people. He clarified that the unilateral actions taken by India in occupied Kashmir on August 5, 2019 were an attempt to disempower the Kashmiris.

According to the Foreign Office Spokesperson, the government and people of Pakistan celebrate this day with full intensity as “Exploitation Day” to remind the international community that the Kashmiri people are still deprived of their right to self-determination.

The spokesperson said that statements have been issued by the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. On this occasion, the Foreign Minister sent letters to the heads of the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in which he called on the international community to grant the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.

He further said that in Islamabad, the Foreign Secretary briefed the ambassadors of various countries on the current situation in occupied Kashmir, highlighting human rights violations, the situation of political prisoners and the legal aspects of Indian measures.

On the occasion of the Exploitation Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also organized a solidarity walk in Islamabad, which was led by the Foreign Minister. The walk was attended by officers of the Ministry, representatives of various institutions and a large number of citizens. Various seminars, photo exhibitions and rallies were organized across the country, while the Pakistani and Kashmiri community around the world also celebrated the Exploitation Day.
