Islamabad: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan has announced that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH has not been sighted across the country, so the 1st Dhul-Hijjah will be on Thursday, May 29, 2025, and Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

In a central meeting held in Islamabad, Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that no confirmed evidence of moon sighting has been received from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and other cities. According to Suparco and the Meteorological Department, the age of the moon on the evening of May 27 was about 11 hours, which is considered insufficient for sighting according to astronomical principles.

On the other hand, the moon of Dhul-Hijjah was sighted on May 27 in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries, according to which Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated there on Friday, June 6.

After the announcement of the date of Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan, the purchase of sacrificial animals and other preparations have begun. According to government sources, the Eid holidays are expected to be from June 7 to June 9.

Special security arrangements will be made across the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, and local bodies will be mobilized for cleanliness and care of sacrificial animals.
