1.List of Islamic Months
The Islamic calendar consists of 12 lunar months, each with unique significance. Below is the list of Islamic months:
- Muharram (المحرّم)
- Safar (صفر)
- Rabi’ al-Awwal (ربيع الأول)
- Rabi’ al-Thani (ربيع الآخر)
- Jumada al-Awwal (جمادى الأول)
- Jumada al-Thani (جمادى الآخر)
- Rajab (رجب)
- Sha’ban (شعبان)
- Ramadan (رمضان)
- Shawwal (شوّال)
- Dhul-Qi’dah (ذو القعدة)
- Dhul-Hijjah (ذو الحجة)
These months are based on the lunar calendar, and the sighting of the crescent moon marks the beginning of each month.
2.Importance of Islamic Months
Islamic months hold profound spiritual value as they guide Muslims in performing religious obligations and remembering historical events. The four sacred months in Islam—Muharram, Rajab, Dhul-Qi’dah, and Dhul-Hijjah—are particularly significant for their emphasis on peace, worship, and reflection.
3. Significance of Rajab
This month is a time for Muslims to prepare for Ramadan, seek forgiveness, and perform good deeds. Acts of worship such as additional prayers, fasting, and charity are encouraged in Rajab.
