Senator Faisal Vawda has made shocking claims, saying that close friends within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are working together to hurt the father of the party. He told the Karachi Press Club that people inside the PTI are planning not only to keep their leader in jail but also to kill him, even though he has been telling them over and over for the past four years. Vawda said that the PTI’s reliance on protests and sit-ins was pointless. He also brought up the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case and said that it was an open-and-shut NAB case that would always end in punishment.
Even though Vawda acknowledged that the PTI founder had helped shape his political career, he kept his distance from him and told those who were loyal to the founder to protect his life. He praised the Army Chief’s efforts at “backdoor diplomacy” and said that Pakistan would make a lot of economic progress in the next few days. He also hinted that the government would make big news soon. Stressing the importance of being honest in political agreements, he said that recent talks were not true and warned the PTI of problems ahead, especially when it comes to their plans for January 20. Vawda also said that the military and government were to be thanked for making the economy look good and for giving people hope for a better future in Pakistan.
