Educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed on May 9 and 10.

Lahore: The Punjab government has announced the closure of all educational institutions across the province for two days. According to Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikander Hayat, the decision has been taken in view of the deteriorating law and order situation. All public and private schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, while teaching will resume as usual from Monday, May 12.

The Department of Higher Education has also postponed all board exams scheduled for May 9 and 10, the new schedule of which will be released later.

The decision has been taken in the context of Pak-India tensions, during which Pakistan has responded strongly to Indian aggression. The Pakistani armed forces have shot down 25 Indian drones, including the Israeli-made Harop drones.

The government has directed parents, students, and educational institutions to keep an eye on the latest information released by official sources and avoid rumors. This step has been taken to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff.
