Gold rates jump to record high of Rs 348,000 per tola

KARACHI – Gold prices in Pakistan touched new highs today when gold per tola became more expensive by Rs 8,600 in a single day to reach a high of Rs 348,000.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 10 grams of gold has also increased significantly, increasing by Rs 7,373 to Rs 298,353.

Globally, gold prices also rose, with gold rising $86 to trade at $3,310 per ounce.

Experts say that uncertainty in the global market, inflation concerns, and the devaluation of the currency at the local level are the main reasons for the increase in gold prices. Investors are once again considering gold as a safe-haven asset.
