ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has submitted an important resolution in the National Assembly to protect the water of the Sindh River and defend the rights of Sindh, calling on the federal government and the Punjab government to ensure the water rights of Sindh. The resolution has been unanimously signed by all the members of the Sindh Assembly, which has made the sensitivity and seriousness of the matter clear.
The resolution clearly states that any new canals or projects on the Sindh River would be against the interests of Sindh and could pose serious threats to the agriculture, economy, and environment of the province. The resolution also said that Sindh is already suffering from an acute water shortage, and the situation may further deteriorate due to a change in water flow in the upper reaches.
