Islamabad, February 28, 2024— Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a Rs. 20 billion Ramadan relief package to provide financial relief to the public during the holy month of Ramadan. The package aims to reduce the burden of inflation and ensure access to essential items at affordable prices for the common man.
Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, while sharing details of the package, stated that the relief will be implemented through utility stores, offering discounts of up to 15% on over 800 branded items. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to protect the public from the effects of inflation and ensure their convenience during the sacred month of Ramadan.
The federal minister further added that the operating hours of utility stores across the country have been extended to provide more time for people to purchase essential items. He stressed that strict instructions have been issued to ensure the availability and quality of goods at these stores.
Rana Tanveer Hussain clarified that the Ramadan relief package offered at utility stores is a separate scheme aimed at facilitating the public and is part of the government’s broader efforts for public welfare.
