Rawalpindi: Barrister Salman Safdar met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in Adiala Jail. The meeting lasted for about 40 minutes, in which various legal matters and cases were discussed.
According to Barrister Salman Safdar, the Adiala Jail administration arranged for the meeting at 4:30 pm on Monday. He said that despite repeated requests, he was allowed to meet Imran Khan after seven months and Bushra Bibi after 11 months.
He said that the short duration of the meeting was not enough for detailed consultation on several cases and legal matters. Despite this, important matters were discussed with both.
According to Salman Safdar, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi informed him about their health and living conditions in jail. Both also provided new instructions regarding their cases and other legal matters.
The lawyer said that matters related to the pending cases were discussed during the meeting; however, due to limited time, it was not possible to discuss all the matters in detail.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court is also scheduled to hear a petition on November 5 by members of the National Dialogue Committee seeking permission to meet Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
