ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while inaugurating a Danish school in Islamabad, has said that financial difficulties should not become a barrier to any intelligent child in obtaining quality education. He said that Pakistani youth can make the country prominent on the global stage with their talent, hard work and determination.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister appreciated the achievements of the students of Danish Schools and said that children from poor families should also get the same opportunities for quality education as the privileged class.
Shahbaz Sharif said that it is not easy for low-income families to educate their children in renowned educational institutions like Aitchison. It was with this feeling that the foundation of the Danish Schools project was laid in 2010, with the aim of providing better educational facilities to deserving children.
The Prime Minister said that he had attended the ceremony not as the Prime Minister but as a servant. The documentaries presented regarding Danish schools and the students’ impressions impressed him immensely.
He gave the example of a girl from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that her story reflects hope, courage and unwavering determination. According to him, hard-working parents try to improve the future of their children by working hard in extreme heat and cold; therefore, it is important to provide equal opportunities to children from such families to move forward.
Shahbaz Sharif expressed his determination that efforts will be made to make Danish schools at par with the country’s leading educational institutions, if not better than them. He said that students from all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, are also studying in these institutions.
According to the prime minister, the Danish Schools project is expanding beyond Punjab to the entire country. He said that establishing a society based on justice, merit and equal opportunities is among the fundamental objectives of Pakistan.
He emphasised that access to quality education must be ensured for the development of the country and the development of the youth.
