Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has further extended the last date for filing income tax returns for the tax year 2026 to October 31.
According to the FBR, this extension is for those individuals who were earlier required to file their returns by September 30 and whose last date was earlier extended to October 15.
The FBR took this decision following requests from trade organisations and tax bar associations. The announcement regarding the extension cited Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
Taxpayers should file their returns with accurate details of their income, applicable tax, deductions and other necessary information. Timely filing will be better to avoid technical issues in the last days.
