Islamabad – Medical reports of August 1 and 10 have been revealed regarding the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan. The reports have been submitted to the Supreme Court by the Adiala Jail authorities.

According to the available details, on August 1, Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Akhtar Ali Bandisha examined Imran Khan. On this occasion, he complained of fluctuations in blood pressure, headache and anxiety.

During the examination, his blood pressure was recorded as 140/100. The pulse rate was 50 beats per minute. No significant abnormal changes were found in the ECG.

The report recommended further evaluation taking into account age and mental stress. The doctor also suggested considering CT coronary angiography. Along with this, a change or increase in blood pressure medications was recommended.

The report also recommended practical measures to reduce mental stress. These included more meetings with his wife, newspapers and TV facilities.

Later, on August 10, a four-member medical board examined Imran Khan again. This time, blood pressure was recorded as 140/80 while pulse was recorded as 54 beats per minute.

According to the medical board, Imran Khan did not complain of chest pain or heaviness. He did not report shortness of breath or abnormally fast heartbeat.

According to the report, the ECG was normal in this examination. Echocardiography also found the heart valves and chambers to be normal.

Importantly, the August 10 board did not find the need for further cardiac tests. The report specifically recommended that CT angiography not be required.

The board suggested walking for about an hour daily. Along with this, emphasis was also placed on providing mental peace in the current prison environment.

According to the doctors, access to newspapers, TV and books can help reduce mental stress. More meetings with family were also considered useful in controlling anxiety and blood pressure.

An important aspect in these reports is that further cardiac testing was advised in the August 1 examination. However, the four-member board on August 10 did not consider further cardiac tests necessary based on the available medical findings.

This difference highlights the importance of fresh assessment of the medical situation. However, any final medical findings can only be interpreted by the relevant experts.

Imran Khan has been incarcerated in Adiala Jail since August 2023. His health issues have been a part of court proceedings before. In March 2026, the Islamabad High Court had directed the formation of a medical board to assess his health.

During the same period, his eyes were also examined by experts in Adiala Jail. The five-member medical board formed in March included ophthalmologists including Professor Akhtar Ali Bandisha.

The main point of the latest reports is that the examination on August 10 did not reveal any cardiac symptoms. Along with monitoring blood pressure and pulse, the board recommended focusing on physical activity and mental calm.
