ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Amir Raza during a special ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chiefs of Armed Forces and other senior civil and military officials.
The award was given in recognition of General Amir Raza’s distinguished professional services and his contributions to the defence and security of Pakistan.
The President presented the award to General Amir Raza at the ceremony, after which senior officials and other participants congratulated him.
General Amir Raza is currently serving as Commander of the National Strategic Command. His current responsibility is part of the command structure related to the country’s important strategic defence affairs.
General Amir Raza has previously been awarded awards in recognition of his military services, including Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military and Sitara-e-Bisalat.
The ceremony held at the Presidential Palace was also attended by top military leadership, while the ceremony concluded with the President awarding the Nishan-e-Imtiaz Military.
