Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that in the context of recent regional developments, Pakistan expresses full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and will continue its unwavering support for the security, sovereignty and stability of the brotherly country.
The Prime Minister said in his statement that the ongoing tensions and recent actions in the region have created a fear of further harming peace and stability, due to which all concerned parties need to exercise restraint and responsibility and adopt diplomatic means so that the situation does not become more complicated.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan reiterates its strong brotherly relations and complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia at this critical juncture. He expressed his resolve that Pakistan will support every initiative that leads to the promotion of peace, security and mutual trust in the region.
The Prime Minister further said that Pakistan’s foreign policy is based on the promotion of peace, stability and understanding in the region, and the government will continue to support diplomatic efforts for the peaceful resolution of conflicts. He said that only de-escalation and dialogue can guarantee lasting peace in the interest of the people of the region.
He also expressed the hope that all relevant countries would adopt a responsible approach and avoid actions that could affect regional stability, while Pakistan would continue to play its positive role in promoting peace, cooperation, and constructive diplomacy.
