Islamabad: The funeral prayers of Pakistan Air Force officer Group Captain Asim Tariq Shaheed were offered, in which the top military leadership of the Pakistan Air Force, officers, soldiers and other concerned personalities participated. On the occasion of the funeral prayers, full tribute was paid to the services and sacrifice of the martyred officer.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, also attended the funeral prayers. He expressed his condolences and sympathy to the family of the martyred officer and prayed for his high ranks.
On this occasion, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu said that Group Captain Asim Tariq sacrificed his life for the country while trying to save the life of an innocent citizen. According to him, this act is a shining example of duty, courage and respect for human life.
He said that the sacrifice of the martyred officer is practical proof that the officers and men of the Pakistan Air Force are always ready not only to defend the country but also to protect the life, honour and dignity of every citizen.
The Air Chief further said that the sacrifice of Group Captain Asim Tariq Shaheed is a true reflection of the professional traditions, national responsibility and spirit of public service of the Pakistan Air Force and the armed forces of Pakistan. He said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will always remain a source of pride for the nation and will become an example of courage and duty for the coming generations.
According to the ISPR, the Pakistan Air Force, while paying great tribute to the services of the martyred officer, reiterated its resolve that it will continue to fulfil its responsibilities at all levels for the protection of the country and the people.
