Major weather change in Pakistan: rain and wind forecast in various cities

Islamabad: Amidst the intense heat wave, the Meteorological Department has issued a new forecast of rain, wind and thunderstorm in the upper and central regions of the country, after which the weather is likely to change in many cities.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next 24 hours, while strong winds and thunderstorms may also occur in some areas.

According to the report, intermittent rain is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Murree, while thunderstorms have also been predicted in Swat, Dir, Malam Jabba, Kohistan and Bajaur.

The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of wind and rain in Chitral, Kalam, Buner, Abbottabad, Kohat and Peshawar, while the weather may also remain unstable in Mardan, Swabi, Malakand, Kurram, Parachinar and Bannu.

Meanwhile, strong winds and rain have also been expected in the southern districts of DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Karak and Waziristan. The weather is likely to be partly cloudy in Peshawar; however, the heat may persist, and the temperature is likely to reach 40 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain was recorded in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last night. Upper Dir received the most rainfall, while other areas, including Kalam, Darosh and Malam Jabba, also experienced pleasant weather due to rain.

On the other hand, light rain and strong winds in various areas of Lahore temporarily reduced the intensity of heat; however, the Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather in the city today. The maximum temperature in Lahore can reach 41 degrees Celsius, while the humidity in the air is likely to remain humid.

Meteorologists say that a new wave of westerly winds is affecting the upper regions of the country, due to which heavy rain may occur in some places in the coming days.
