Washington: The United States has expanded its strategy to increase pressure on Iran, including a blockade of ports and long-term measures in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CNN, these measures are being taken at a time when discussions are underway between the two countries for possible negotiations.
US President Donald Trump’s team has re-included the nuclear program in the terms of the agreement with Iran. In this regard, Steve Witkoff has sent Iran amendments to the proposed agreement.
According to Axios, Iran has been asked to avoid transferring enriched uranium and refrain from any new activity at its nuclear facilities.
On the other hand, according to a Reuters report, the US Navy has started using artificial intelligence to detect mines in the Strait of Hormuz. A $ 99.7 million contract has been signed with Domino Data Lab for this purpose.
According to experts, this new technology will not only increase the speed of operations but also help reduce maritime security risks, especially in a region where a large part of the world’s energy supply passes through.
