Pakistan reinforces its image as a regional peace broker amid critical US-Iran diplomatic engagement.
Islamabad: Pakistan has once again highlighted its diplomatic importance for establishing peace in the region and has played a key role in the negotiation process between the US and Iran.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in a press briefing that Pakistan will continue its diplomatic efforts to reduce tension and create stability in the region. He clarified that Pakistan will continue to play its role as a facilitator in the talks between the US and Iran.
According to him, the US delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance, while the Iranian delegation was led by Speaker Baqir Qalibaf. The two delegations held detailed and constructive talks consisting of several stages, in which the security situation in the region, prospects for peace and global issues were discussed.
Ishaq Dar said that the participation of representatives of both countries was possible at the request of the Prime Minister, which is being considered a major diplomatic achievement.
He said that Pakistan believes that the solution to all conflicts is not in war or conflict but in negotiations, diplomacy and the continuation of ceasefires.
The Foreign Minister stressed that it is extremely important that the ceasefire continues, as this process can pave the way for lasting peace, economic recovery and regional development in the future.
He added that both countries appreciated Pakistan’s positive role, which is proof that Pakistan is emerging as a responsible and effective diplomatic partner at the global and regional levels.
