Islamabad: Lt. Gen. (retd) Nasir Khan Janjua, while addressing a seminar, said that India’s internal political turmoil has once again increased the chances of instability and aggression in the region. He said that Pakistan’s modern missile technology and strong defence capabilities are fully prepared to give an effective response to any possible Indian adventure.
He said that Pakistan, being the only Islamic nuclear power, maintains its strategic importance at the global level, which is why enemy forces are always afraid of Pakistan’s stability. According to him, Pakistan’s recent diplomatic and defense successes have not only increased the country’s prestige but are also reshaping the concept of the balance of power at the global level.
Retired Air Marshal Sajid Habib said in his address that the resolve and capability of the Pakistan Air Force is still unparalleled in the region. He said, “If India again makes a misunderstanding, we have the power to shoot down not ten but a hundred of their aircraft.” He described Operation Swift Retaliation as a bright chapter in the history of national defense.
Rear Admiral (retd) N.A. Rizvi said in his speech that Gwadar Port is the main pillar of Pakistan’s defense and economic future. According to him, the full functionality of the port will not only strengthen maritime defense but also make Pakistan’s strategic position in the region undeniable.
This seminar is a sign that Pakistan’s military leadership is not only aware of traditional defense challenges but is also focused on formulating a new strategy in the context of global changes. According to experts, it is time for Pakistan to further integrate its defense policy with a combination of diplomacy, economy and technology to establish sustainable peace in the region.
