Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for by-elections for vacant Senate and Punjab Assembly seats.
According to the official notification, polling for the Senate seat vacated after the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Shibli Faraz will be held on October 30. Nomination papers for this seat can be submitted on October 8 and 9.
Meanwhile, by-elections for PP-115 and PP-116 constituencies in Faisalabad will be held on November 23. Candidates have been given time till October 15 to submit nomination papers. These seats fell vacant after the disqualification of Shahid Javed and Muhammad Ismail.
The ECP has also scheduled the by-election for PP-269 Muzaffargarh on November 23. The nomination process will continue from October 13 to 15.
The commission has directed all candidates and political parties to follow the given schedule and the election code of conduct.
