ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the government has decided to transfer the Tax Policy Office from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to the Ministry of Finance so that tax policy can be aligned with the overall economic strategy.
He said that after the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding during the Prime Minister’s recent visit to China, there has been significant progress in economic cooperation between the two countries, which will create new opportunities for Pakistan.
The Finance Minister further said that the ongoing tariff negotiations with the US are providing important opportunities for Pakistani exporters and will boost trade activities in the future.
He said that the stability in the foreign exchange rate and policy rate has increased investor confidence, while effective measures are being taken to control inflation. According to Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, government reforms are gradually leading the economy towards stability and providing a foundation for long-term growth.
