Islamabad: The meetings held in Manama during Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Bahrain have breathed new life into Pakistan-Bahrain relations. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa gave the Prime Minister a grand welcome and both leaders fully agreed to increase regional and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif presented new proposals to the Bahraini leadership to promote investment and joint projects in Pakistan. Both countries recognized that there are immense opportunities in the fields of trade, investment, and energy, which can be expanded through effective strategies. At the same time, they reiterated their commitment to further strengthen defense cooperation.
The King of Bahrain conferred the country’s highest honor, the “Order of Bahrain”, on the Prime Minister of Pakistan. On this occasion, the King recalled that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had legally represented Bahrain in the past, which laid the foundation for the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries.
At the beginning of his visit to Bahrain, the prime minister also met Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa at the Quds Palace where he was presented with a guard of honor. Appreciating the hospitality of the Bahraini leadership, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is committed to taking bilateral relations to new heights.
