Lahore: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman expressed serious concerns about the country’s system while holding a press conference in Lahore. He said that the sugar mafia and power companies (IPPs) have held both the farmers and the economy hostage.

He alleged that sugar mill owners do not buy crops from farmers on time, but deliberately buy them when the crop dries up and its weight decreases, so that more benefits can be gained by paying less money. Apart from this, he is also accused of irregularities in bank payments.

Talking about the Senate elections, Hafiz Naeem said that like every time, the market for buying and selling seats will be hot this time too. Real public representatives are left behind and people come forward on the account of wealth.

He openly supported the ongoing people’s movement in Balochistan and said that Jamaat-e-Islami always stands with the legitimate rights of every nation.
