Sindh government announces public holiday across the province tomorrow, notification issued

Karachi: The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2026. A formal notification has also been issued in this regard.

According to a notification issued by the Services General Administration and Coordination Department, all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies and local councils in the province will remain closed tomorrow.

This holiday has been given on the holy occasion of Juma-tul-Wida (the last Friday of Ramadan) so that citizens can participate in religious gatherings and worship in a full manner. It should be noted that the Sindh government has taken this decision in view of the importance of Youm-e-Quds and Juma-tul-Wida.

The notification clarifies that:
All government offices and educational institutions across the province will remain closed.
Essential services providers, including hospitals and municipal services, will continue to operate as usual.

The Sindh government has already implemented a ‘work from home’ policy on Fridays as part of its recent austerity drive, but March 13 will be a complete public holiday, leaving all offices completely closed.

It should be noted that the Sindh government has previously announced spring vacations for schools and colleges across the province from March 16 to March 31.
