Islamabad: Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moqadam has said that Pakistan is successfully playing its role as the main mediator in the ongoing diplomatic process between Iran and the US, and contacts between the two countries are still ongoing.
Speaking to the Iranian official news agency IRNA, he clarified that Iran has not made any decision to change the mediation at any level, and Pakistan is the main instrument of this process.
He said that not only the exchange of messages is ongoing through Pakistan’s mediation, but also efforts are underway to reduce tensions between the two countries. According to him, Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts are very important for establishing peace in the region.
The Iranian ambassador revealed that recent peace proposals from Iran have also been sent to the US through Pakistan, and this development has also been confirmed by several international sources.
Reza Amiri Moqadam added that the Iranian leadership considers Pakistan a reliable friend and effective mediator and appreciates its role. According to him, due to Pakistan’s efforts, the diplomatic process between the two countries has been continuous.
He also indicated that the US side is also recognising Pakistan’s mediation, which is proof that Pakistan is playing an important diplomatic role at the global level.
