The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reconstituted the national team’s selection committee and has included two former captains, Misbah-ul-Haq and Sarfaraz Ahmed, in the committee.
Inclusion of experienced leadership
Misbah-ul-Haq and Sarfaraz Ahmed are names in Pakistan cricket who have led the national team for a long time and brought many historic victories to the country. According to the board, the cricket career of these two players has been very respectable and to benefit from their vast experience, they have been made part of the most important selection process.
Aleem Dar’s resignation and new appointments
These changes in the selection committee have been implemented after the recent resignation of umpire Aleem Dar. The committee was incomplete after Aleem Dar’s departure, but now after two new appointments, the selection panel is complete again. Now this four-member committee will be responsible for selecting players for future tours and series.
Board’s expectations of the current selection committee
PCB officials say that the inclusion of Misbah and Sarfaraz will further improve the selection of players on merit. Both the players are well aware of the ups and downs of domestic and international cricket, which will directly benefit Pakistani cricket.
