Iran and China have described their recent diplomatic engagements as “constructive”, highlighting growing convergence on issues of regional stability and sovereignty.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a statement that talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi focused on strengthening cooperation and addressing ongoing regional challenges. He said both sides reaffirmed Iran’s right to protect its national sovereignty.
Araghchi also welcomed a four-point proposal put forward by China aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region. Although the details of the proposal were not fully disclosed, it reflects Beijing’s continued diplomatic outreach to reduce tensions and encourage dialogue.
The Iranian foreign minister expressed confidence in China’s role, saying Tehran expects Beijing to continue playing a positive role in reducing tensions and preventing conflicts. They stressed the importance of building a new regional framework that integrates development and security in a post-conflict environment.
The talks come at a time when regional dynamics are complex, with diplomatic engagement seen as a key path to stability. The emphasis on autonomy and structured cooperation suggests a common approach to addressing long-term security and economic challenges.
The emerging Iran-China dialogue highlights the importance of multilateral engagement in shaping future regional arrangements.
