The Minister of State made this statement when an Afghan delegation led by Afghan Minister of Commerce Haji Nooruddin met with him. The meeting was also attended by the Afghan Minister for Refugees, the Afghan Ambassador, and other senior officials. From the Pakistani side, Secretary of the Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, transit trade, the repatriation of Afghan nationals, and other important issues were discussed. Talal Chaudhry said that Afghanistan is a brotherly Islamic country, and Pakistan wants to see its fraternal relations with the Afghan people further strengthened. He added that Pakistan has selflessly served Afghan nationals for several decades, and this will continue.

The Minister of State said regarding the return of Afghan nationals to their homeland that the government will provide every possible facility, and for this purpose, more than 50 transit camps have been established across the country where medical and other facilities are provided. He also mentioned that complaint cells have been set up to prevent any unpleasant incidents, so that Afghan nationals do not face difficulties.

Talal Chaudhry clarified that the purpose of the “One Document Regime” is to ensure that no individual resides in Pakistan without legal documents. He also stated that Afghans holding the PoR card will not face any difficulties until June 30.

They further added that a delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Afghan government will soon visit Pakistan to discuss bilateral security and trade matters.

The Afghan delegation thanked Pakistan for its hospitality and the facilities provided to Afghan residents over the past four decades. Afghan officials also stated that they are eager to further strengthen bilateral security and trade with Pakistan.
