Karachi: Reiterating his commitment to protecting the rights of the people of Karachi, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that “we will not tolerate people who sit like snakes on the powers of Karachi.”

Addressing a function, he said that “Karachi is being deprived of its elected mayor, local government powers, and basic amenities. Even the number plates of vehicles are being made again by us, which is the height of injustice.”

Hafiz Naeem, while calling education a core agenda of Jamaat-e-Islami, said that 26.2 million children in Pakistan are out of school, including 10 million children from Sindh. “We want education to be the right of every household, not just the privilege of the rich.”

He described the ongoing “Education Card” program in Gulberg as a successful model and said that it would be expanded throughout the city. “We want to connect our children with knowledge, not drugs. We will make their future bright,” he said.

He said that work is underway to improve 5 government schools in each town of the city, and Jamaat-e-Islami wants to make this process transparent and productive. In conclusion, he said that “there will be no bargaining on the rights of Karachi; we will go to the extreme.”
