Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has announced a public holiday across the country on November 9, 2025, on the birth anniversary of the poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

The Cabinet Division’s notification stated that all federal and provincial institutions, schools and offices will remain closed on Iqbal Day. This day reminds the nation every year that Allama Iqbal created a sense of self-reliance, self-confidence and awareness among Muslims through his words and philosophy.

On this occasion, events, seminars and poetry recitals will be organised across the country where educationists, students and Iqbal scholars will shed light on Iqbal’s ideas of self-reliance, action and unity.

Since November 9 falls on a Saturday this year, the public will get a two-day holiday, due to which citizens will be able to spend this day with their families or participate in intellectual activities.
